THE LIVES BEHIND THE FIELDS OF DEATH
Denis Džidić | 21 min | with Engl. subtitles
Đulsa Velić was 49 years old when she left Srebrenica in July 1995 with her family, along with around 40,000 women, children, and elderly people who were transported in convoys of buses and trucks from Potočari to Kladanj. That summer, more than 7,000 men and boys were killed in and around Srebrenica. Đulsa Velić shared her story of surviving the genocide with the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network (BIRN) Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Srebrenica Memorial Center through the project “Lives Behind the Fields of Death,” one month before she passed away.
